Rome man behind bars after a failed bribery attempt

A Rome man has been jailed after trying to convince officers to let him out of a traffic stop. 
 
According to Rome Police, 40-year old Ashley Alton Diamond of a Woodward St address was initially stopped by Rome Police for a mirror equipment violation. 
 
Diamond reportedly tried to bribe an officer that he would “do anything” to let him go. 
 
Diamond was arrested and charged with bribery, driving on a suspended license and mirror equipment violation. 
 
According to the Panama City News Herald, the body of Tony Orlando Jackson was found about a half-mile east of M.B. Miller Pier Sunday afternoon.
A woman is charged with terroristic threats and acts while another woman is charged with 2nd-degree burglary.
