Man charged with battery, aggravated assault

A 50-year old Rome man was arrested Wednesday on charges of aggravated assault, simple battery and public drunk.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Stephen Wilson Lee Pack of a Woodberry Drive address punched another man in the face during an altercation.

He then attacked the man a second time, leaving the victim with scratches on his arms, a bloody nose, and a black eye.

Pack also allegedly put his arms around the victim’s neck, depriving him of air.

Police say that Pack was drunk at the time of the assault.
 

Man charged with terroristic threats and acts

A Marietta man is in the Floyd County Jail, charged with terroristic threats and acts.

According to jail records, 43-year old Randall Jay Davis sent an email to a Floyd County resident, threatening to take an Uber to Rome and strangle the victim.

Davis was also charged with stalking and harassing communications.
 

 

Report: Atlanta man tried to smuggle drugs into the Floyd County Prison

Another former inmate at the Floyd County Prison has been charged with trying to smuggle contraband into the facility back on February 11.

According to arrest warrants, 27-year old Robert Jermaine Julian of Atlanta conspired with another man to obtain drugs and tobacco.

The other man left 54.8 grams of tobacco, 19.2 grams of methamphetamine, and 68.5 grams of marijuana in a parking area on Industrial Boulevard for Julian, who intended to smuggle the items into the prison.

The contraband was concealed inside a Pringles canister, according to the warrant.

Julian is charged with items prohibited for possession by an inmate, conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Controlled Substances Act and possession of a controlled substance or marijuana.
 

Man arrested for fraud and theft by deception

A Cave Spring man accused of using a company credit card without authorization was arrested Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 28-year old Casey Warren Jones of a Jackson Chapel Road address returned items that he had purchased with the card at Home Depot on Hicks Drive and then received gift cards totaling over $1,500.

He then kept the cards for his own personal use, according to police.

Jones is charged with felony theft by deception and financial transaction card fraud.
