Man cited for impeding traffic flow after being struck by vehicle

ROME POLICE REPORTS

Rome Police have released the incident report regarding a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on Martha Berry Boulevard Friday night.

According to the report, 46-year-old Corey Hightower told police that he and his cousin were crossing Martha Berry near McDonald Street to get to the hotel.

While they were waiting in the middle of the road for traffic to pass, he was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by an 89-year old man.

The driver of the Jeep said he did not see Hightower.

Hightower was transported to the hospital with leg pain and issued a citation for impeding the flow of traffic.
