Four arrested for drugs during the execution of a search warrant

Four people were arrested on drug charges Friday during the execution of a search warrant at a home on Lynn Avenue in Coosa.

79-year-old Ann Ruth Parr, 26-year-old Derek Hunter, and 32-year old Ashley Nichole Royer, all of the residence, along with 42-year old Doyle Eugene Tant Sr. of Morningside Drive are all charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, and reckless conduct.

According to Floyd County Jail Records, Police discovered meth, marijuana, several sets of digital scales, hypodermic needles, and smoking devices at the residence.

In addition to previous charges, Dereck Parr is being charged with Obstructing a Police officer after he resisted arrest and injured an officer.

Police said there was also an infant child inside the residence whose life was endangered as a result of the presence of the illegal substances.

Meanwhile, 51-year old Vivian Louise Tucker of a Wet Oak Drive address was arrested on charges of public drunk, disorderly conduct and misdemeanor obstruction of officers.

Authorities say she showed up at the residence during the execution of the search warrant and interfered with the investigation.
