One person was transported to the hospital Friday morning following a two-vehicle wreck on Highway 27 North.
According to Floyd County Police, a black GMC Sierra was in the northbound turn lane, attempting to turn left into the Food Lion shopping center.
The driver failed to yield and was the pickup was struck by a southbound red GMC Sierra.
The driver of the red pickup was taken by Redmond EMS to Floyd Medical Center.
The extent of his injuries was not known at the time of this report.
No other injuries were reported.
The wreck, which occurred at around 8 a.m. closed the southbound lanes of Highway 27 for about 30 minutes.
