A Blountsville, Alabama man is facing a felony vehicular homicide charge following a high-speed chase with law enforcement that ended with a crash, claiming the life of an Adairsville woman Saturday morning.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, at around 9:15 a.m., a 2015 Mini Cooper driven by 20-year old Christopher Tyler Parker was clocked going 95 miles per hour on I-75 in Gordon County.
Parker failed to stop, exited off of I-75 South at GA 53 then crossed through the intersection re-entering I-75 South.
The pursuit continued south on 75, then onto Union Grove Road and then Highway 41 into Adairsville.
Parker struck a Buick Verano at the intersection of Highway 41 and Highway 140.
The impact caused the Verano to strike a Dodge Durango.
There was no contact with the GSP patrol car.
The driver of the Verano, 55-year old Angela Walker Townsend was killed.
The driver of the Durango, 34-year old Vanessa Stovall of Talking Rock was transported to Gordon Hospital with complaints of head and shoulder injuries.
Parker was arrested.
In addition to vehicular homicide, he is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, theft by receiving stolen property and bringing stolen property into the state.
Authorities say he stole the Mini Cooper from his grandmother.
