Downtown Rome’s Harvest Moon Café to cease operations until further notice

March 18th, 2020 – 8:00 AM

Steve Smith – Director of Operations – Harvest Moon Café

Harvest moon Café in Downtown Rome is shutting down due to recommendations they have received from the medical community.

“Effective immediately we are choosing to cease all operations at The Harvest Moon Café, Dark Side of the Moon and the Moon Roof Bar until further notice. At this time, we will be closed to both dine- in and carry out.”

“It is with very heavy hearts that we make this decision, and apologize for any inconvenience. We are glad to report that none of our employees are affected and none have reported any symptoms.”

“We look forward to a speedy change of circumstances and anxiously await the opportunity to return to service for you, and a return to normal life for all of us.

Harvest Moon is also reminding everyone that this healthcare crisis affects all of us, and that our beloved restaurant community is being devastated.

Harvest Moon Cafe partners and supports The Giving Kitchen (GK), an industry related 501c3 organization,, in their work to provide many types of support and resources to the restaurant workers. This great organization is going to need massive support. You may make donations directly at their website listed above.

In an effort to support the local restaurant community, Harvest Moon will match by 10% all gift card purchases made during the next 30 days with a cash donation to The Giving Kitchen. We have requested this donation to be earmarked for local Rome / NW Ga restaurant staff in need. Gift Cards may be purchased online at

Truett’s Chick-fil-A on Shorter Avenue will also close temporarily out of an abundance of caution after one or more restaurant team members experienced symptoms consistent with COVID-19
