A Rome woman is facing charges of 1st-degree cruelty to children, battery, felony obstruction of officers and interference with government property following her arrest Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records, 40-year old Garlyn Lisa Sam of a Green and Gold Boulevard address grabbed a 7-year old child and scratched the child’s neck, leaving red marks.
She also allegedly fought with police as they were trying to arrest her, striking one of the officers.
The report states that Sam also pulled an officer’s shoulder mic, causing damage to the officer’s uniform,
