In partnership with Braves concessionaire, Delaware North, the Braves launched the Braves Home Plate Project last month to respond to food insecurity needs across Braves Country.  Led by Chef Pete Smithing, the kitchens at Truist Park prep food purchased for their April games and create meals for the community.

As a part of the program, on Friday the Braves deployed their Los Bravos food truck to join hunger relief efforts underway at Redmond Regional Medical Center. The Atlanta Braves and Rome Braves prepared approximately 650 meals for essential staff at Redmond Regional Medical Center, who are on the frontlines of the COVID-19 fight.

We spoke with the Rome Braves General Manager, David Cross for more on this in the video below.

In addition to the meal delivery program, Global Center for Medical Innovation will donate personal protective equipment (PPE) including face shields and hand sanitizer to Redmond Regional Medical Center to help keep healthcare workers safe.
