GA DPH COVID-19 Report for 7 p.m. May 31

GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

Floyd County saw five additional COVID-19 cases from 1 p.m. on Saturday to the latest report at 7 p.m. Sunday.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, Floyd has now seen 265 confirmed cases since March with 15 deaths and 43 total hospitalizations.

Bartow County saw no new cases during the same time period, remaining at a total of 478.  There was one additional death, bringing the total to 39 since the start of the pandemic.

Gordon County saw five additional cases from Saturday afternoon to Sunday evening for a total of 163.  No new deaths reported in Gordon County.  That number remains at 16 in total.

Polk County remained at 118 confirmed cases and 1 death and Chattooga County held steady at 24 cases and 2 deaths.

Statewide, there have been 553,986 tests administered and 47,063 positives.  That is up from 46,286 from Saturday at 1 p.m.

There have been 2,053 deaths, up by 50 from Saturday.

Beginning this Tuesday, the Georgia Department of Public Health will move to a once a day status report instead of three times daily.

That report will be released each day at 3 p.m.

Public Health Officials say this will allow time to process and validate laboratory and case reports to improve data quality and accuracy.
