(Via WBHF Radio) 56-year-old Carroll Yvonne Taylor was booked into the county jail Sunday morning for aggravated assault involving the use of a firearm, family violence simple battery, cruelty to a child in the third degree, and criminal trespass damage to property in connection to an incident which allegedly occurred at her apartment on Evergreen Trail near Cartersville Saturday night.

During a verbal argument with her granddaughter, Taylor purportedly stated, “I’m going to get my gun!” Taylor allegedly then entered her granddaughter’s room with her gun and put one hand around her granddaughter’s neck with the gun in the other hand.

The granddaughter then reportedly pushed Taylor’s hand off of her. Taylor further allegedly pointed the gun at her granddaughter’s boyfriend and pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire.

The granddaughter reputedly pushed Taylor to the ground, forcing her to drop the gun. The boyfriend then allegedly picked up the gun, ran to his car with the granddaughter, and left.

During the incident, Taylor purportedly caused her granddaughter’s bra strap to break. The young couple’s juvenile daughter was allegedly in the room next door.

A responding deputy observed a magazine containing eight rounds that were in the gun reportedly used during the assault.
