Georgia sets new one day record for COVID-19 cases

The State of Georgia set a new record Wednesday for the most number of new COVID-19 cases.

There were 2,946 new positive tests reported by the Georgia Department of Public Health, bringing the total to 84,237 since the pandemic began.

There were 22 deaths reported from Tuesday to Wednesday, 224 new hospitalizations and 34 new ICU admissions.

In Floyd County, there were 25 new positives, bringing the total to 539 since March.

12 patients are at Floyd Medical Center after testing positive, another four at Redmond.

Looking at other Northwest Georgia Counties:

Gordon County reported 399 total cases on Wednesday up from 380 the day before.

Bartow County had 26 new cases.

Polk County only had three new cases.

And Chattooga County had one new case.
