The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that occurred in Adairsville early Thursday morning.
According to officials, the accident occurred at Highway 140 and Green Loop Road:
(Via WBHF Radio) According to GSP reports, the accident occurred on October 8, 2020, at approximately 7 a.m., a concrete mixer truck driven by 39-year-old Jerry L. Potts of Fairmont, was traveling east on Highway 140 near mile marker 8. A 2004 GMC Yukon, driven by 56-year-old Laura Virginia “Ginger” Thompson of Adairsville was traveling west on Highway 140.
The mixer truck made a left turn in the path of the Yukon. Thompson’s vehicle struck the truck on the right side with its front. The area of impact was in the westbound lane of Highway 140 at its intersection with the driveway of 1655 Hwy 140.
The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT-A) is conducting a follow-up investigation. Charges are pending the completion of the SCRT investigation.
