The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office –
On Wednesday afternoon the Bartow County Sherriff’s Office reported multiple jail inmates testing positive for COVID-19.
In the following press release they addressed the public’s concerns:
“In response to some of the jail inmates coming back with positive COVID-19 tests, we are quarantining the entire jail population effective October 14th.”
“Even though those that have tested positive have been largely asymptomatic, we think it is prudent to quarantine to prevent any further spread.”
According to the Sherriff’s Office, you will still be able to do video visitation, phone calls, and emails with the individuals in custody.
Sheriff Clark Millsap also used this opportunity to clear the air regarding mistruths being posted on social media about this subject:
Quote: “We have observed the mistruths that have been posted on social media the last couple of days, and I can assure you that we are monitoring & testing all the inmates in the facility and we are following the state health department guidelines and recommendations.”
“We provide medical care to the inmates that far exceed what most of them receive while they are not in custody.”
