October 26, 2020–11:30 a.m.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Flash Flood Watch for portions of north-central Georgia, northeast Georgia, northwest Georgia and west central Georgia from Wednesday morning through Thursday evening.

Counties in the watch area include Floyd, Bartow, Chattooga, Paulding, and Polk.

Periods of heavy rainfall are expected across the area with the rain bands from the remnants of Tropical Storm Zeta as it tracks inland through the end of the week.

Associated rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches are expected across north and northwest Georgia with locally higher amounts possible.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to Flash Flooding.

Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
