Closings and delays for Thursday

STAFF REPORTS

Power is still out for the Carnegie Building. City Offices in this building will delay opening until 11 am. (Building Inspection, Community Development, Downtown Development, Parking Services, Human Resources)

Due to power outages, all Rome City School’s online classes and buildings will be closed today. No one is to report.

Floyd County Schools will be closed Thursday for all staff and students, and they will be implementing a Digital Learning Day.

Calhoun City Schools will move to “Distance Learning” Thursday due to the severe weather predictions for our area.

Gordon County Schools will be closed today along with Cartersville Schools, Bartow County Schools, and Trion City Schools.

Polk County and Chattooga County Schools will both have distance learning days.

All campuses of Georgia Northwestern Technical College will be closed on Thursday.

The City of Rome will delay opening all city administrative offices and Rome Transit Operations until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.

The Floyd County COVID-19 test site at Rome Fair Grounds, 1400 Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd., Rome, GA, will not be open Thursday.

Gordon County Government offices, including all Court functions, the Elections Office, Tag Commissioner’s Office, and the Tax Appraiser’s Office will delay opening until 10:00 am.

Superior Court and Early Voting will resume at 10:00.

Due to widespread power outages, all Coosa Valley Credit Union locations will delay opening until 11 am. Please check our website for updates.

All Floyd Primary and Urgent Care locations will delay opening until 9 am this morning because of travel concerns related to last night’s storms.
