The Bartow County Fire Department responded to two fatal fires that occurred early Tuesday.
At 2:22 AM, the Bartow County Fire Department arrived at 170 Mountain View Road in Acworth in reference to a non-structure fire. Upon arrival, the fire department found a fully involved vehicle on fire and an individual still inside the vehicle.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze and discovered the body of a 28-year-old male, who was using a propane heater inside the vehicle.
Another fire occurred at 613 Hall Station Road in Kingston.
The fire department received a call at 2:42 AM in reference to a structure fire. Crews arrived to find a two-story structure with heavy smoke and fire showing.
A resident on the scene advised her husband was possibly inside and that the smoke alarm woke them up to find heavy fire on the back porch. Both escaped but the male victim returned inside and was not seen exiting the house.
Crews made several attempts to search the residence with heavy fire and heat conditions and did locate a deceased 63-year-old male.
Both fires were investigated by Bartow County Fire and Emergency Services Fire Marshal’s office and found to be accidental.
