Polk County Police Department (Press Release) –
On December 15th, 2020, Patrol Officers with the Polk County Police Department’s Uniformed Patrol Division were dispatched to 216 Hudson Loop in Aragon in reference to a structure fire – The address was part of the Cashtown Community.
Upon the arrival of patrol officers and fire personnel, the fire was contained.
It was reported by witnesses on scene that a grey Ford Focus passenger car was observed driving through the area earlier in the day, and that a male subjected exited the vehicle near the residence shortly before the fire began.
An investigation into this incident was carried out by Polk County Police Detective Brady, which lead to the arrest of 62 year-old Rockmart man, Steven Moody.
According to the Polk County Police Department; Moody is in custody at the Polk County Adult Detention Facility and is being charged with Felony Arson in the first degree, Felony Criminal Damage to Property (to the 2nd degree), and Criminal Trespass.
