COVID-19 status report for December 22

51 more Floyd County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total to 6,205 since late February.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health’s Tuesday status report, 99 more Bartow County residents tested positive for a total of 5,855.

Gordon County reported 39 new cases from Monday to Tuesday for a total of 3,780.

Polk County is now at a total of 2,322 positive tests, up by 29 and Chattooga County is at 1,420, up by 17 from the day before.

Statewide, there were 6,242 confirmed cases reported on Tuesday bringing the total to 518,902 since the start of the pandemic.

9,503 Georgians have died from the virus, which is up by 52 from Monday’s report.
