Floyd County applies for GDOT Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant

Floyd County officials hope to hear from the state in the next month regarding an application for excess funding through the Georgia Department of Transportation’s Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant Program.

These are excess funds that didn’t get spent by the state during the current fiscal year which ends in July.

The county is applying for $200,000 with an up to $60,000 local match.

The county’s portion would be $38,334 with the rest made up with in-kind labor.

The improvements to the 14 roads include thermo, signs, radar signs, and guardrails.
