The Rome City Commission is set to vote on a trial period for open container in downtown Rome when they meet Monday night.
The proposal is to allow consumption on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. from August 5 to October 30.
A number of citizens have signed up to speak during the meeting.
Commissioners are also expected to approve the millage rate following a third and final public hearing.
An agreement regarding the management of Barron Stadium is also on the agenda for the meeting, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Rome City Hall.
