A Silver Creek man has been arrested on warrants charging him with the exploitation of the elderly and financial transaction card fraud.
According to the warrants, 55-year old Kenneth Wayne Barnett used an elderly man’s financial transaction card to make multiple purchases between April 28 and July 25 of this year.
The victim’s card was used at the East Rome Walmart on July 4 to make a purchase of more than $427.
Barnett was supposed to be using the card to purchase items the victim needed while recovering from a broken hip and back.
He did not have permission to use the card for himself.
The victim has had to move money from other accounts in order to prevent overdrafts.
