NEWS RELEASE

When West End Elementary needed to fill the position of assistant principal, they looked to a member of their current school family.

Lisa Strack began her career at West End Elementary in 2009, as a third-grade math, science, and social studies teacher. It was the passion of her peers and leaders that inspired her to take her career to the next level.

“I decided to branch out,” she said when explaining why she applied for the position. “I obviously witnessed our passionate leaders here at West End and in our entire system, and I wanted to spread my passion for education.”

“Over my time here I have worked with some great teachers and some great leaders,” she added. “My children went to school at West End, so this school will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Strack said that a day in the life of the assistant principal is all about connection. From greeting parents and students in the morning to administrative and faculty meetings and building relationships with the students as needs are assessed, each task is about nurturing connections so that each individual Wolf involved may thrive.

“Our parents and our community are really amazing,” Strack expressed. “Any opportunity that we have to involve our parents, we invite them in; we want them to be a part of West End and they are one of the large reasons why we are so successful.”

Strack said that she has found great support in Principal Dr. Dennis Drummond during her transition into her new assistant principal role.

Moving forward Strack is eager to encounter all the rewarding work ahead.

“West End has always been such a successful school. I look forward to working alongside Dr. Drummond, our staff, our faculty, our students, and our community to continue those many successes and grow even more successes as a family.”

As she accepts her new role in a school that she holds dear, Strack expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to do so, “I’m just honored to be a part of this great school system and this wonderful community.”
