Rome and Floyd County is mourning the loss of a long-time public servant.
Judge Larry Salmon passed away Saturday at a local hospital at the age of 83.
Judge Salmon served as a Floyd County Superior Court Judge from 1989 until his retirement in 2008.
Prior to that, he served as district attorney from the early 1970s to 1984.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 pm at Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church.
