DOT gives update on Rome and Floyd County projects

CITY OF ROME

Members of the Transportation Technical Coordinating Committee got an update on some future road projects Tuesday morning.

Joe Ciavarro from the Georgia Department of Transportation said the Second Avenue widening along the levee is currently scheduled to be bid in July of 2022.

Bridge replacements over Big Dry Creek on Martha Berry Highway and on Kingston Highway over Dykes Creek are slated to be put to bid in August of next year.

The South Rome By-pass from US 27 to Highway 101 is set to be bid in July of 23 and the Southeast Bypass from Highway 101 to Highway 411 in ’24.   The latter include a signalized intersection
