NEWS RELEASE

This past Saturday, the Rome International Film Festival held an awards ceremony for their Student Film Academy competition.  Two groups from the Floyd County College and Career Academy FAME Pathway received awards.

The 1st place award was presented to the film, “The Classroom.” Filmed as a parody of the hit TV show, The Office, students argue over what kind of film to produce for a local film festival.  The students involved were: Brianna Askew, Emma Boatner, Daniel Downs, Patrick Grizzard, Jaleigha Harris, Rahkeem Jackson, Jasmynd Payne, Hannah Randolph, Grace Sargent, and Treyton Swann.

The 3rd place award was presented to the film “Nugget of Truth,” which took a satirical spin on a suspenseful, Netflix-style documentary trailer.  Students working on a school project discover that there is a big conspiracy with the global chicken nugget supply and things take a fowl turn as they start to ruffle some feathers.  The students involved were: Hope Burns, Brandon Corona, Brittany Deems, Isaiah Girgis, Lizbeth Hernandez-Reyes, Sarah Jenkins, Ashley Long, Aryan Merchant, April Nichols, Katelyn Rhinehart, Tucker Snow, Kristian Wooten, and Logan Wright.
