Rome City Commission meets Monday

The Rome City Commission will consider a rezoning request for a townhome development at 44 Carter Avenue when they meet Monday night.

The applicant is seeking a zoning change from Community-Commercial to Multi-Family Residential to construct 2 & 3 bedroom, 1,800 to 2,000 square feet, 2 story townhomes with single car garages.

The overall tract is approximately 8.87 acres, and a portion has been developed commercially. The subject property will be subdivided into a standalone parcel containing 3.8 acres.

Commissioners will also vote on a Special Use Permit for a multi-family residential building on property at 202 East 4th Avenue that is zoned Low-Density Traditional Residential.

During the pre-meeting caucus, Ken D. Haynes, Enterprise Executive Vice President & President of the Greater Charlotte Region, Atrium Health will be on hand to give a presentation.

The caucus starts at 5 p.m. with the regular meeting to start at 6:30 at Rome City Hall.
