STAFF REPORTS
The Rome City Commission has approved a new residential development.
Commissioners voted in favor of a rezoning request for property at 44 Carter Avenue where 39 single-family townhomes are being proposed for 3.8 acres.
The site is located behind Big Dan’s carwash off Shorter Avenue.
The project consists of two and three-bedroom, two-story townhomes with single-car garages.
The commission also approved a request for Special Use Permit for an 11,772 square foot apartment building at 202 East 4th Avenue.
This property has previously had multi-family housing on it and became non-conforming when the Unified Land Development Code was adopted in 2001.
Extensive renovations have recently been completed on the three-story structure which will be used as a 5-unit apartment building.
