CITY OF ROME
Local third-grade students are learning more about the ecology of Northwest Georgia firsthand, thanks to a grant from International Paper.
The Rome-Floyd ECO Center applied for and received funds from them in order to offer an educational program, free of charge, to every 3rd grade class in the Rome City and Floyd County school systems.
Different schools can face different challenges when planning field trips, and the cost is often one of those.
Students from Armuchee Elementary were able to learn about native wildlife from Eco Center director Ben Winkelman during a recent field trip.
