Three charged as adults following disturbances at Rome YDC

Three teenagers are facing charges following two separate incidents at the Rome Youth Detention Center on Marable Way.

According to the arrest warrants, on September 6, 17-year-old Rory Lashun Chatman Jr. of Rome and 17-year-old Kalob Austin Slater of Rockmart fought with officers and staff during a disturbance at the facility.

Both were charged with felony obstruction of officers, aggravated assault, and terroristic threats and acts.

Then on September 9, 18-year-old Jonathan Eric Robinson Jr. of Douglasville resisted and fought with staff, and two correctional officers received injuries.

Robinson is charged with felony obstruction and aggravated assault.

All three youths are now lodged in the Floyd County Jail.
