What began as a shoplifting incident ended with the arrest of a Kentucky man after he allegedly fled from police Monday night.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

21-year-old Robert Anthony Magditch of Versailles, Kentucky stole $19.23 in stickers from Murphy’s USA on Cartersville Highway and then parked in the Walmart parking lot.

Magditch refused to get out of his vehicle when asked to do so by the police. He then left the scene and was later located on Biddy Road at Highway 411. As Magditch put his vehicle in reverse to back up, he ran off the roadway and into a sign.

The report states that Magditch was driving under the influence and was also found with items stolen from the East Rome Walmart. He also made threats against the officers while en route to the hospital and again at the jail.

Magditch is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, terroristic threats and acts, obstruction of law enforcement officers, theft by receiving stolen property, theft by shoplifting, DUI, failure to maintain a lane, improper backing, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving too fast for conditions, reckless driving, unregistered vehicle, running a stop sign, and a headlight violation.
