The City of Rome’s General Administration Committee will hold a called meeting Thursday morning to get an update regarding a new provider for the city’s employee wellness clinic.
The City of Rome and Floyd County have been looking at other providers for the clinic after receiving notice late last year that AdventHealth Redmond was preparing to terminate the agreement.
The contract, which was approved in 2021 before Redmond was purchased by AdventHealth, came with automatic renewal each year unless either side wanted to terminate with 60 days’ notice. In this case, AdventHealth gave 90 days’ notice, giving the city and county until March 1 to find another provider.
Around 2,500 employees and their family members use the employee wellness center, located at 2112 Shorter Avenue.
According to Rome City Manager Sammy Rich, they are moving forward with Atrirum Health Floyd as the new provider.
Thursday’s called General Administration meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the Sam King Room at Rome City Hall.
