Man accused of fleeing from police

A 22-year-old Cedartown man is accused of fleeing from Cave Spring Police at speeds of up to 120 miles per hour while on a motorcycle late last week.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

James Michael Gray was clocked going 88 in a 55-mile-per-hour zone.

He then failed to stop for police as they tried to conduct a traffic stop.

As he fled, Gray crossed the center line on the curvy roadway.

The pursuit ended when Gray’s motorcycle broke down.

He is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, possession of both methamphetamine and marijuana, crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs, and a number of traffic violations.

Teen charged with entering auto, possession of a firearm

A Rome teenager was jailed late last week on charges of entering an auto, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a handgun by a minor.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

17-year-old Terance LaSwaun Bryant entered a vehicle on Riverbend Drive with the intent to commit a theft while in possession of a firearm.

Report: Woman had hydrocodone belonging to someone else

A 37-year-old Rome woman is facing drug charges following her arrest late last week.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Jacqueline Lynetta Nicholson was in possession of hydrocodone that did not belong to her.

In addition, the pills were not in a labeled bottle.

She is charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drugs not in the original container.
