Man accused of trespassing naked

A 28-year-old Rome man was arrested Sunday on charges of intimidation of the elderly and criminal trespass.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Zachery Clayton Lankford entered the Old Dalton Road home of an 86-year-old woman without permission.

The woman fled the residence due to Lankford being naked and refusing to leave.

Fight lands two behind bars

A fight between two brothers at a home on Watters Street ended with both men being arrested Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

50-year-old Jimmy Lee Payne choked 50-year-old Jerry Wayne Payne and was charged with aggravated assault.

Meanwhile, Jerry punched Jimmy in the face because Jimmy had called Jerry’s wife a name.

Jerry Payne is charged with battery.

Woman charged with aggravated assault

A Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with aggravated assault.

According to the warrant:

21-year-old Carla Victoria Perez approached another woman in a threatening manner with a machete.

The incident occurred on Mar. 7 at a location on Ross Street.

Forgery charge filed against Silver Creek woman

A 57-year-old Silver Creek woman is accused of using a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for merchandise at a convenience store on Rockmart Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Terry Renee Little was arrested on Friday and charged with a felony count of 2nd-degree forgery after purchasing $46 in merchandise and then paying with the bogus bill.

Report: Four men conspired to distribute 10 pounds of marijuna

Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers arrested four men in the West Rome area on Friday, charging them with conspiracy to traffic marijuana and other charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

23-year-old Jamaican Ja Mal Malik Mitchell and 33-year-old Marcus Antwan Townsend, both of Rome, along with 29-year-old Vernon Dean Mandigo of San Francisco, California, and 31-year-old Antwan G. Serchion of Atlanta met with other people to discuss dividing and distributing more than 10 pounds of marijuana.

Mitchell and Serchion were additionally charged with trafficking marijuana and all four men were also charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Mandigo and Townsend were additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Mandigo also had a firearm with an altered identification mark, gave police a false name, and is wanted by US Marshals in Virginia on an outstanding warrant.

Man accused of hitching up another man’s utility trailer and driving off

A Lindale man was arrested Saturday on a felony warrant charging him with theft by taking.

According to the warrant:

46-year-old Andrew Dan Smith took a utility trailer from someone else’s property on Vassar Drive on Feb. 15.

Smith attached the trailer to his vehicle and drove away.

The trailer was valued at $2,500.

Man charged with theft by taking

A Cedartown man arrested last week for a probation violation has now been charged in the theft of a motorcycle from a location on Agnes Street on Mar. 10.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

46-year-old Dannie Ray Kelley Jr. took the 2003 Kawasaki EX250 from the victim’s yard while the victim was in jail.

The motorcycle is valued at $3,195.

Inmate charged with having a shank and tattooing equipment

An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is facing an additional charge of possession of items prohibited for inmates.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

47-year-old Lonnie Charles Fletcher was found in possession of a shank, a lighter, needles, metal, a tattoo machine, and ink.

Fletcher has been in jail since January after being arrested on probation and child support warrants.

He is also being held for the Adairsville Police Department.

Man facing meth possession, fugitive from justice charges

A 41-year-old Rome man was arrested Friday at Shorter Avenue and West Drive.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Kenneth Rolland Edwards III had methamphetamine in his left front pocket.

He also has warrants for his arrest in Alabama.

Edwards is charged with possession of meth and with being a fugitive from justice.
