Man charged with vehicular homicide following Friday wreck that claimed the life of a motorcyclist

A Rome man has been charged with felony 1st-degree vehicular homicide following a two-vehicle wreck Friday evening that claimed the life of a motorcyclist. The wreck occurred on Garden Lakes Boulevard near Redmond Circle.

According to Rome Police:

A Chevy Impala, driven by 39-year-old Terrance Marquis Cunningham of Rome, struck a motorcycle head-on, killing the rider.

Police determined that Cunningham was driving under the influenced and was deemed at fault in the wreck.

Cunningham is also charged with DUI, open container, improper turn, and a probation violation.

The Floyd County Coroner’s Office has identified the motorcyclist as 40-year old Justin Cody Lee Higgins.
