Alabama man injured in Rome wreck

-Rome Police reports-

A 73-year-old Centre, Alabama man was transported to Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center following a two-vehicle wreck on Highway 27 South Monday.

According to a Rome Police report:

William L. Tierce was traveling east near Sanders Drive when he lost consciousness and his 2014 Jeep Wrangler crossed the median and traveled into the westbound lane, striking a 2004 Honda Pilot driven by 68-year-old Shirley Graham of Rome.

The Jeep continued, striking a concrete sign at 1900 Parrish Drive.

Tierce sustained what was described as a suspected serious injury. He was also cited for failure to maintain a lane.

Shirley and a 91-year-old passenger in her vehicle were not injured.
