Man arrested on kidnapping charge
A 38-year-old Rome man is accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Steven Cody Hughes, of a Calhoun Road address, entered the victim’s residence, breaking the glass on a door, and then forcibly taking the woman against her will, dragging her next door.
Hughes is charged with kidnapping, battery, criminal trespass, and a probation violation.
Report: Woman was living in stolen camper
A 35-year-old Cave Spring woman was jailed Tuesday on two counts of 1st-degree burglary and two counts of theft by receiving stolen property.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Angelica Marie Johnson was living in a stolen camper at a location on East Drive, along with several valuable stolen items.
Police were first called on Apr. 27 but Johnson fled as they arrived.
Man charged with criminal damage to property
A 38-year old Rome man was arrested at his Harrison Road residence early Wednesday on charges of criminal damage to property, two counts of 3rd-degree cruelty to children, and four counts of misdemeanor obstruction of officers.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Eric Allen Stewart took the victim’s cell phone and threw it to the ground.
The incident occurred in front of two children.
Stewart also pulled away from officers and walked away as they were trying to put him in handcuffs.
