Man accused of fleeing from police arrested on Monday

A Lindale man was arrested on multiple charges after allegedly fleeing from police at a high rate of speed in the area of Highway 411 and Chateau Drive in November of last year.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

24-year-old Jordan Shane Franks also ran a stop sign and a red light, causing a wreck that resulted in another person being seriously injured.

At the time of his arrest on Monday, Franks was found with suspected methamphetamine.

He is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, serious injury by vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, reckless driving, failure to obey a traffic control device, driving with a suspended license, driving on the wrong side of the road, speeding, and no tag light.

Inmate accused of attacking another inmate at the Floyd County Jail

An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is facing felony charges after he reportedly stomped and kicked another inmate, causing the victim to suffer a collapsed lung.

According to jail records:

42-year-old Terrell Eugene Edmondson also caused swelling and redness to the left side of the victim’s face and back during the attack.

Edmondson is charged with aggravated battery, exploitation or intimidation of a disabled adult, unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution, and battery.

Report: Man threatened officers during traffic stop

A 34-year-old Silver Creek man is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop Monday on the Armuchee Connector at Georgia Loop 1.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

David Joseph Tatum admitted to having six shots of Fireball whiskey before driving and threatened to beat up police officers.

He attempted to bite and kick multiple officers, spitting on one officer and kicking another.

Tatum then banged his head on the cage of the patrol vehicle, causing the plastic divider to crack in several places.

He is charged with terroristic threats and acts, interference with government property, DUI, failure to maintain a lane, simple battery on a law enforcement officer, simple assault, and felony obstruction of officers.

Two arrested on Harvey Street

Two people were arrested following a domestic altercation on Harvey Street late Monday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

23-year-old Rodney Jermaine Sullivan Jr. is charged with battery and 2nd-degree criminal damage to property after taking the victim’s cell phone and throwing it.

20-year-old Tykeria Rebecca Sams is charged with terroristic threats and acts and simple battery after threatening to hit the victim with her vehicle.

Man accused of stealing generator

A 54-year-old Cedartown woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail Monday on a felony count of theft by shoplifting.

According to jail records:

Amanda Louise Pugh stole a Dewalt generator valued at $1,449 from the Home Depot on Hicks Drive.

The incident was caught on video surveillance.

Traffic stop leads to drug charges against Summerville woman

A Summerville woman was arrested during a traffic stop on Highway 140 and Prosperity Way Monday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

45-year-old Katharine Nicole Medley was found in possession of methamphetamine.

She is charged with DUI, following too closely, failure to maintain a lane and possession of meth.
