The Rome Police Department has released the accident report regarding a fatal crash that occurred late last month.
According to the report:
A 2004 Honda Accord driven by 43-year-old Jason S. Johnson of Rome ran the red light on Kingston Highway at the connector while going 110 miles per hour.
While negotiating a curve on Kingston Highway, the Honda struck a truck route sign and continued into the woods, striking several trees.
Johnson died at the scene.
The report states that Johnson never hit the brakes.
The wreck occurred just after 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 27.
