Atlanta woman arrested on drug charges

An Atlanta woman is facing felony drug charges in Floyd County.

According to jail records:

24-year-old Maria Rosa Pimentel was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine with the intent to sell at a location on Melody Lane early Monday.

She also had less than an ounce of marijuana and was in possession of drugs past the guard line at the jail.

The report states that Pimentel also walked away from officers, twice and resisted being handcuffed.

She is charged with possession of meth, possession with the intent to distribute, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, obstruction of officers, and possession of drugs past the guard line.

Another arrest made in connection with theft of county equipment in May

A second man has been arrested in connection with the theft of a sweeper attachment belonging to the Floyd County Water Department back on May 19.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

56-year-old Gregory Brian Colburn of Rome and his brother showed up at a job site in the area of Huffaker Road, where the county water department was working.

The two then loaded up the sweeper attachment with a Bobcat they had used without the authorization of the company they worked for.

The men drove away in their company vehicles with the stolen property.

The value of the sweeper attachment was listed at $8,000.

61-year-old Christopher Jackson Colburn was arrested earlier this month. 

Report: Woman stole more than $1,600 from Wendy’s

A 32-year-old Rome woman is accused of taking $1,637 from Wendy’s on Turner McCall Boulevard.

According to the arrest warrant:

Iesha Shante Smith was caught on video taking the money between May 4 and May 21.

Smith is charged with felony theft by taking.

Calhoun man charged with criminal attempt to commit a felony

A 40-year-old Calhoun man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with criminal attempt to commit a felony.

According to the warrant:

Adam Lamar Ely entered property on Old Summerville Road in Floyd County in a red vehicle with two other people.

They were then seen on camera under the carport, attempting to commit a theft.

Ely is also charged with criminal trespass and a probation violation.
