The Floyd County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a 2023 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes of 9.84%.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held in the Floyd County Commission chambers located at 12 East 4th Avenue, Rome, GA, on July 11, 2023, at 6:00 PM.
Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are in the Floyd County Commission chambers located at 12 East 4th Avenue, Rome, GA, on July 25, 2023, at 8:00 AM and July 25, 2023, at 6:00 PM.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 9.414 mills, an increase of .843 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 8.571 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $250,000 is approximately $104 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $73.
