Man accused of attacking woman with a hammer

A Calhoun man was jailed over the weekend after he allegedly entered a home on Alabama Highway and attacked a woman with a hammer.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

25-year-old Jose Enrique Roman-Salgado began to strangle the victim after he lost possession of the hammer.

He also broke the rear windshield glass of the victim’s vehicle before entering the home through a window.

Roman-Salgado is charged with aggravated assault, burglary, and criminal trespass.

Man charged with terroristic threats and acts

A 58-year-old Aragon man was arrested over the weekend on charges of terroristic threats and acts and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Jonathan William Ogden Sr. threatened to kill a woman with a knife and a gun at his residence on Wax Road Saturday evening.

Report: Man struck stop sign, fled from police

A man was arrested early Sunday on multiple charges after he struck a stop sign with his vehicle and fled from police in the area of East 14th Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

50-year-old Timothy Morris Williams Sr. of Rome nearly hit an officer and other vehicles as he was fleeing.

Williams got out of the vehicle and fled on foot prior to being caught.

An open bottle of liquor was found in the vehicle.

Once at the jail, Williams was found with two oxycodone pills.

He is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, DUI, open container, possession of a controlled substance, crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs, obstruction, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, improper backing, driving without insurance, failure to yield for emergency vehicles, and duty upon striking a fixed object.

Man arrested in connection with high-speed chase

A Rome man has been arrested for allegedly fleeing from police at speeds of 125 miles per hour on Highway 27 South back on July 1.

According to the arrest warrant:

57-year-old William Riley Brock III narrowly missed striking two cars at the beginning of the pursuit, crossing a raised concrete median in the middle of a dangerous intersection.

Brock is charged with a felony count of fleeing or attempting to elude, and theft by receiving stolen property.

He is also facing warrants for both probation and parole violations and is being held for authorities in Carroll County.

Man accused of selling stolen trailer

A Rome man was arrested Saturday on felony warrants charging him with theft by receiving stolen property and theft by deception.

According to the warrants:

In August of 2020, 37-year-old Adrian Jamar Daniels sold a 2019 Max Built trailer that he knew or should have known had been stolen.

The trailer was valued at over $5,000 and Daniels sold it for $1,500.

Daniels also used someone else’s identification to further deceive the victim.
