Woman charged with terroristic threats, unlawful conduct during a 911 call
A Cave Spring woman is accused of making harassing calls to Floyd County E-911.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
42-year-old Samantha Ann Harvey harassed a communications officer by calling three times, using obscene language, and making threats.
Harvey is charged with two felony counts of terroristic threats and acts and a single misdemeanor count of unlawful conduct during a 911 call.
Report: Man tried to damage police vehicle window
A 40-year-old Silver Creek man is facing multiple charges following his arrest Tuesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Joshua Blake Strickland called 911 five times when there was no emergency.
He also ran into the intersection of Coker Drive and Shorter Avenue, creating a traffic hazard.
Once arrested, Strickland repeatedly struck the window of the police car.
He is charged with criminal attempt to commit a felony, unlawful conduct during a 911 call, misdemeanor obstruction of officers, and pedestrian under the influence.
Man charged with felony obstruction
A Rome man is facing a felony obstruction charge after allegedly kicking a Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputy.
According to jail records:
24-year-old Chance Dalton Beam also went out onto the roof of his East 14th Street apartment in an attempt to prevent deputies from taking him into custody.
Beam is additionally charged with misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement and a probation violation.
Man accused of taking money for work he never did
A Calhoun man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with theft by deception.
According to the warrant:
In June of 2022, 40-year-old Jimmy Eugene Bradley Jr. quoted a price of $6,000 for a home improvement job on Bridgeview Drive in Rome and was paid half for the purpose of purchasing materials.
Bradley bought three buckets of paint and dropped them off at the residence but never returned to do the job.
Man charged with meth possession
A 45-year-old Rome man was arrested at his Atkins Drive home Wednesday for possession of methamphetamine.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Matthew Shaun Owens had a crystal-like substance that is suspected to be methamphetamine.
He is also charged with a probation violation.
