Floyd County Emergency Management has released its storm damage report from the strong storms that rolled through the area on Sunday.
According to the EMA:
The first CodeRed alert was issued at 3:22 p.m., followed by a Severe Thunderstorm Warning at 3:23 p.m.
There were trees on houses at 28 Fannin Street and Cedartown Street in Cave Spring as well as on Avenue D in Lindale….All with minor damage and no injuries.
Trees were also reported down in the 6700 block of Rockmart Highway, South First Street in Lindale, Spout Springs Road, the 300 block of Pleasant Valley Road, and Shorthorm Road with power lines also down.
There were reports of trees across a car at 525 Burnett Ferry Road and power lines were down on East Second Avenue where a transformer also “exploded,” Callier Springs Road, Cedartown Street in Cave Spring, and Padlock Mountain near Glenn Road, also in Cave Spring.
Another CodeRed alert was issued at 5:14 p.m. and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued at 5:28 p.m.
During that round of storms, lightning struck houses on Gill Road and Reynolds Bend Road and there were trees down on Rollingwood Circle and Ross Street.
Power lines were down on East 10th Street and Mulligan Court in the Hermitage area.
