Most of the damage from Monday’s storms was south of Floyd County. However, Floyd County Emergency Management did report some problem areas.

There were trees down on Old Cedartown near Pepperell Elementary, and a tree fell on a car as it was going down the road (powerlines wrapped inside).

A tree brought down power lines on Shorthorn Road, and there was a tree on a line on Wax Road at Midway Park.

On Agnes Street, there was a power outage with the caller hearing something explode, possibly a transformer.

Power lines were also down at 2670 Reeceburg Road, which caught the grass on fire.

Lightning struck a tree near a house on Silvermont Drive.

Rome-Floyd E911 also reported a low-hanging power pole on Huffaker Road, and a transformer caught fire in the area of 2686 East Hermitage Road.
