Man accused of selling stolen items

A 38-year-old Silver Creek man has been arrested on felony warrants charging him with theft by receiving stolen property and theft by shoplifting.

According to the warrants:

Christopher Dewayne Bailey sold electric cabling, jumpers, and grounds, that had been stolen from Service Electric Company and valued at close to $6,900, to a recycling business on New Calhoun Highway.

He also sold 14 yellow cables used on power trucks belonging to Georgia Power at the same recycling business.

Those cables were valued at $3,000.

Bailey is also accused of taking two Milwaukee batteries from a hardware store on Shorter Avenue by placing the items in his pants.

The batteries were valued at more than $500.

Bailey was also charged with selling a motor vehicle part with an altered serial number, misdemeanor obstruction of officers, and three probation violations.

Report: Man stole wedding band from elderly woman

A 28-year-old Rome man is accused of stealing a 24-carat gold wedding band from an 85-year-old Lindale woman.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Joseph Bradley Ineichen Jr. then tried to have the stolen ring, valued at $2,500, appraised.

He is charged with theft by taking, theft by receiving stolen property, exploitation of the elderly, and a probation violation.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A Rome man was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop Wednesday on Calhoun Road at East Hermitage Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

24-year-old Maurin Daniel Sims was driving with a suspended license and was also found in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

Man charged with possession of a controlled substance

A traffic stop on West Hermitage Road at Old Shannon Road ended with the arrest of a 20-year-old Rome man on a felony count of possession of a controlled substance.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Abraham Alexander Francisco Pascual had marijuana oil inside his vehicle.

He is also charged with driving with a suspended license.
