The Rome City Commission has voted to lower the monthly leak protection charge for City of Rome water customers.
Commissioner Jim Bojo, who chairs the water and sewer committee made the motion.
“The water department offers leak protection that you can pay and then if you have a leak or something they can reduce your bill where it’s much more affordable,” he said. “Effective September 1, the rate will go from $1.65 to $1.50 per month.”
