The closure of Ellis Road for road construction has been extended through the weekend.
Officials say the closure may likely continue until Tuesday, August 22 at 4 p.m. Floyd County Public Works has been working on Ellis Road since August 15, but extenuating circumstances have slowed the repair of a failed cross drain at residence #114.
There will be no traffic allowed through the work zone. The detour for this work zone will be Mathis Road and Pleasant Valley Road.
School bus traffic will not be able to cut through using Ellis Road.
