Teen charged with smash-and-grab burglary

A Rome teenager has been arrested in a smash-and-grab burglary in West Rome that occurred on April 8.

According to the arrest warrant:

17-year-old La’Dericus Cardale Cunningham and co-perpetrators threw a rock through the front glass window of X-Hale City on Shorter Avenue and then stole approximately $1,500 in merchandise from inside the business.

In addition to the burglary charge, Cunningham is also charged with a felony count of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property for causing approximately $5,000 in damage to the front glass door.

Lindale man accused of stealing vehicle

A Lindale man has been jailed on charges of theft by taking, entering an auto, and giving a false name or address to law enforcement.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

28-year-old Dustin Warren Ballard and another individual took a 2008 Range Rover valued at more than $2,000 from a location on Glenwood School Road back on July 23.

He also took the victim’s belongings from inside the vehicle.

Ballard gave police the name of “Brandon Smith” as they were trying to get his identification.

Man charged with meth possession

A 43-year-old Silver Creek man is facing a felony possession of methamphetamine charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Michael Larry Kines was found with a baggie of meth while being detained for a warrant at Maple and East 12th Street Monday.
