Woman arrested for child cruelty

A 32-year-old Rome woman was arrested over the weekend on charges of 1st-degree cruelty to children, simple battery, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Amber Latarance Gordon yelled profanities at an adult male and a young child.

She pushed the child away as the child was following her, and threw the man’s belongings out of the house on Crane Street, breaking several items.

Woman charged with burglary, auto theft

A Lindale woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with 1st-degree burglary.

According to the warrant:

43-year-old Tiffiny Eden Womack entered a residence on Circle Drive in Lindale and took a set of car keys back on August 16

She then used the keys to steal a Ford Mustang, resulting in an additional felony charge of theft by taking a motor vehicle.

Man charged with drug possession on Riverbend Drive

A homeless man was arrested Saturday on Riverbend Drive on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

56-year-old Timothy Brien Jones was found with a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine and a glass smoking device.

He is charged with possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects.

Tennessee woman arrested on drug charges during traffic stop

A traffic stop on Martha Berry Boulevard at Turner McCall Boulevard Sunday ended with the arrest of a woman from Riceville, Tennessee.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

42-year-old Marsha A. Wright was found with methamphetamine and less than an ounce of marijuana after her Jeep Liberty was stopped for failure to maintain a lane.

It was also determined that Wright was driving under the influence of drugs.
